The Instrument You Already Use
Moqlero controls particle counters directly: configuration, measurement start, reading the values and assigning them to the measuring point all happen without manual transfer. That is the core of the time saving – and at the same time the reason why instrument independence is no side issue for us. Newly Connected
Over the past weeks one further instrument has been fully integrated – including the associated measurement forms, not just the pure communication layer:
- Particle Measuring Systems Lasair 5100: complete integration with instrument control and integration into the measurement forms.
The Refactoring Behind It
Establishing and releasing the connection for IP-based instruments is now handled uniformly in the measurement forms instead of being rebuilt for each device. New interfaces plug into a shared foundation rather than copying and adapting an existing driver. This not only shortens development time, it above all reduces the test effort: behaviour that should be identical for all instruments – connection loss, timeout, releasing the interface after a measurement – is implemented in one central place.
Why Instrument Independence Matters
An instrument fleet grows over years and rarely consists of devices from a single manufacturer. Software supporting only one device family forces either parallel processes or the costly replacement of functioning, calibrated instruments. Moqlero deliberately takes the other route: existing instruments remain usable, and new ones are added when they are needed.
Your instrument fleet should determine the software – not the other way round!
